The women's soccer match between the OUAZ Spirit and The Master's University Mustangs , ended in a 4-4 draw in Santa Clarita, California on Saturday afternoon.
OUAZ (11-2-1, 4-1-1 GSAC) took an early lead with goals from Melinda Lertzman (14th minute), Krystal Sanchez (27th minute), and Harlee Kuntz (29th minute). The Master's University (8-3-3, 3-1-2 GSAC) responded with goals from Sinclair Francescon (22nd minute), Kate Merical (51st minute), and Hannah Burke (51st minute, 17 seconds later). Francescon scored her second goal of the match in the 55th minute to give TMU a 4-3 lead. Lertzman added a goal in the 82nd minute to salvage the tie.
Both teams registered double-digit shots (OUAZ 11, TMU 16) keeping true to their forms of being two of the top three teams in offense in the conference.
With the tie, the Spirit still hold their fate in their own hands. With a win on Saturday against Vanguard University, in the final match of the season, they will be able to win the GSAC. Hope will be traveling to Jessup University for their final match of the season.
