SURPRISE, Ariz. - Battling through a rare Arizona rainy morning, the OUAZ men's golf teams lead from start to finish and ended up beating itself at the OUAZ Spring Invitational held at Sterling Grove Golf & Country Club a few miles from campus.

The Spirit B-team consisting of Jack Ross, Declan Riddle, BK Lim, Trace Jacobson and Gautam Potduhke topped the 11-team field with an impressive 4-over par.  Ross, making his first collegiate start, was the tournament winner by firing 7-under (69-71-69), five shots better than second place finishers Riddle and Trevor Lewis (Embry-Riddle).

The OUAZ A-Team with Nick Lippe, Colby Watkins, Kaiden Nicholson, Gustav Sandstrom and Alex Castelo finished 18 strokes behind their teammates though Lippe, Watkins and Nicholson finished in the Top-10 overall.

This is the third win of the 2022-23 season and the first of the Spring for the Spirit as they head to their next outing (Las Vegas Shootout) in a few weeks in Las Vegas (Feb 20-21).
