Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – OUAZ men's and women's golf opened competition at the PDI Shootout, hosted by Keiser University at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Sept. 14-15. The Spirit women's team turned in a strong performance with a fourth-place finish, while the men's squad placed seventh in a competitive field.
Women's Golf
The OUAZ women finished 4th out of 15 teams with a two-round total of 916 (+52).
Leading the way for the Spirit was Tanli Lemoyne, who carded a tournament total of 225 (+9) to finish tied for 11th individually. Close behind was Chiara Israng, tying for 16th place with a score of 227 (+11).
Alayna Lekkerkerk recorded a 21st-place finish after posting 229 (+13) over the two rounds. Fernanda Rodriguez added a total of 237 (+21) to place tied for 40th, while Macie Doherty finished tied for 49th with a score of 242 (+26).
Men's Golf
The Spirit men placed 7th out of 16 teams, finishing with a team score of 896 (+44).
Shashank Koirala led OUAZ with a tournament score of 219 (+6), earning a tie for ninth place. Jedd Thomas followed with a 225 (+12) to finish tied for 31st, while Corley McLernon shot 227 (+14) to tie for 35th.
Liam Toole finished tied for 51st with a score of 232 (+19), and Oliver Ruutu rounded out the Spirit lineup with a 233 (+20), placing 56th overall.

The Spirit return to action on September 21 when both teams compete in the Northwest Iowa National Invitational.
