SURPRISE, Ariz. – Basketball is a game where sometimes making a shot can be harder than the floor. That was the case for the OUAZ women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon at Faith Arena as the women's team fell to The Masters (12-6, 6-5) 86-47 due to a 5% (1-20) third quarter shooting performance. The loss was the ninth straight for the Spirit and dropped them to 5-14 overall and 1-10 in conference action.

Trailing 36-32 at intermission, OUAZ scored just once in the third quarter and was outscored 50-15 over the course of the final half.  Marlee Johnson topped Spirit scorers with 12 points while Tiana Sledge added 11 points and a team high seven rebounds.

The Spirit looks to find the win column again on Thursday night at Hope International (15-5, 8-3). Tipoff is set for 6:30 pm MST.
