Warriors Pull Away from Spirit in Second Half

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Thursday night at Faith Arena saw No. 5 Westmont pull away in the second half to defeat the OUAZ women's basketball team 79-36.

After falling behind 14-0 to start the game, OUAZ (5-13, 1-9 GSAC) hung around in the first half and entered the break trailing 27-14. Westmont (16-1, 9-1) held the Spirit to only two baskets in the third quarter as they pulled away to earn the road win.

OUAZ shot 24.5 percent and went 1 of 6 from beyond the arc. They committed 21 turnovers which resulted in 24 points for the Warriors.

Tatiana Gary scored 12 points to lead the Spirit. Tiana Sledge added nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Spirit returns to action on Saturday with a noon tip against The Master's.
