OUAZ Falls in Home Return

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Tiana Sledge posted a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds as the OUAZ women's basketball team fell to William Jessup 76-49 on Thursday night in the team's first home game in nearly a month.

OUAZ (5-11, 1-7 GSAC) never led after William Jessup (10-7, 5-3 GSAC) scored the first five points of the game. The visiting Warriors took control of the game early in the second quarter with a 16-3 run that led them to a 17-point halftime advantage.

The double-double from Sledge is her ninth this season and fourth in the last six outings. She was the only Spirit player that scored in double figures after making 5 of 12 shots.

The Spirit finished the game shooting 32.3 percent from the field and 2 of 14 from beyond the arc. They collected 11 offensive rebounds and scored 14 points from 21 Jessup turnovers.

Andrea Jovicevic led the Warriors with 16 points.

OUAZ continues its four-game homestand on Saturday when they host Menlo in Faith Arena at noon.
