Spirit Close Home Stretch with Sweep of Eagles

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team recorded another home win with its 3-0 sweep of West Coast Baptist on Monday night at Faith Arena.

OUAZ moved to 8-7 on the season with the 25-10, 25-9, 25-8 win.

The Spirit posted 39 kills and hit .448 in the win. The attack percentage is the second-highest in program history and came on a night the team hit .375 or better in every set. OUAZ also held a 12-2 advantage in service aces.

There were 10 different players that recorded a kill in the win, with nine posting multiple kills. Gloria Moye and Rylie Henige had nine kills apiece to lead the Spirit, with Moye hitting .900. Shea Marovich added six kills. Destinee Gomez had four aces.

OUAZ gave up just nine kills and forced West Coast Baptist (0-1) into negative-.145 hitting. The Spirit recorded 39 digs and had five blocks.

Katia Dizon led OUAZ with eight digs, while Trina Suldan had seven. Moye led the team with three blocks.

The Spirit will now travel to northern California, where they will resume GSAC play at William Jessup on Friday at 6 p.m.
