Volleyball Swept by Carroll in Invite Finale

SURPRISE, Ariz. – In their final match of the OUAZ Invitational, the 17th-ranked OUAZ women's volleyball team fell to Carroll College in four sets on Saturday afternoon at Faith Arena.

OUAZ (2-2) couldn't match the offensive consistency of its opponent from Montana in the 19-25, 25-15, 23-25, 13-25 loss. Carroll (6-2) posted 55 kills while holding the Spirit to only 41. After a solid second set where they hit .324, OUAZ slowed to .056 and .000 in the third and fourth sets, respectively, to end at .122 for the match.

Payton Treadwell has her best match of the young season with 15 kills and three blocks. Livia De Pra added 10 kills and six digs.

The Spirit had three players reach double figures in digs helping the team to 70 overall. Making her first start as libero, Kenzie Kuxhaus had a match-high 23 digs. Trina Suldan added 16 digs and 35 assists for a second straight double-double.

Elizabeth Heuiser led Carroll with 22 kills and seven blocks.

OUAZ next travels to Bellevue, Neb., where they will play at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic on September 2-3.
