No. 17 Spirit Fall to Skylights in Five

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Closing out an eventful day at the OUAZ invitational, the 17th-ranked OUAZ women's volleyball team fell to Montana State-Northern in five sets at Faith Arena.

The 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 7-15 loss snapped OUAZ's (2-1) 11-match homecourt winning streak and the run of six straight wins in matches that were decided in a fifth set.

After a solid opening set with 12 kills and .212 hitting, the Spirit struggled offensively and ended the night with only 46 kills and a .066 attack percentage. The team hit negative in both the fourth and fifth sets.

Livia De Pra had 18 kills and 14 digs to lead the Spirit in both categories. Payton Treadwell added eight kills, and Jessica Pearce had six.

MSU-Northern (3-0) recorded 58 kills on .076 hitting. Alyssa Pretty Weasel led three Skylights in double figures with 19 kills.

The OUAZ Invitational concludes with six matches on Saturday. The Spirit will play their final match at 2 p.m. against Carroll.
