OUAZ Sweeps Hope to Run Streak to 10

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The No. 6 OUAZ men's volleyball team returned to Faith Arena on Friday night and put its offense on display by recording a 3-0 sweep of Hope International.

OUAZ (15-1, 4-0 GSAC) used the 25-21, 25-18, 25-22 result to tie the program record with its 10th consecutive victory.

The Spirit had 19 kills in each of the first two sets on their way to 54 for the match. They hit .430 overall – including .533 in the second set – by committing only 14 errors. Five players had at least eight kills, with three reaching double figures.

Quaid King led the way with 14 kills on .478 hitting. He also had a team-best eight digs and a service ace. Jordan Moses added 12 kills and six digs, with Colin Donisthorpe hitting .526 with 10 kills.

OUAZ held Hope International (4-8, 0-4) to .238 hitting with 33 kills. The Spirit tallied 6.5 blocks and 28 digs.

Brenden Hardt led the Spirit with four blocks while Tatum Gray added seven digs. Nicho Calles distributed 34 assists in two sets, and Steven Grandinetti had 15 assists in the third.

OUAZ will complete the first half of conference play on Saturday when they host No. 1 Vanguard in Faith Arena at 1 p.m.
