Conference Winning Streak Snapped in 3-1 Loss at No. 4 Vanguard

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The second meeting of the season between the No. 2 OUAZ men's volleyball team and No. 4 Vanguard saw the host Lions even the season series with a 3-1 win on Friday night at The Pit.

The 19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 20-25 loss snaps the OUAZ (20-3, 7-1 GSAC) 16-match conference winning streak that dated back to the 2020 season.

Vanguard (12-5, 6-1) was able to slow the Spirit offense and limit them to 37 kills and .250 hitting. The Lions also countered with 49 kills on .435 hitting themselves. Vanguard added a 13-6 edge in service aces.

Quaid King led OUAZ with 14 kills and a .444 attack percentage. Jordan Moses added 12 kills on .400 hitting and five blocks.

The Spirit will close out the weekend road trip on Saturday when they face Hope International at 1 p.m. in Fullerton.
