Spirit Open Conference with Home Win

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ men's tennis team began conference play by defeating Westcliff 4-2 on Friday afternoon at the Surprise Tennis Complex.
 
Michael Loyd and Austin Todd won the No. 1 doubles dual 6-4 and then Goor Adiv and Gianmarco Pitotti took the No. 3 doubles 6-4 to secure the first point of the day for OUAZ (4-3, 1-0 GSAC).
 
Loyd added a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 5 singles match. The Spirit clinched the four points with Liam Spiers winning the No. 2 match (7-6, 6-0) and Bryce Bodak taking the No. 3 singles (6-3, 7-6).
 
It's a quick turnaround for the Spirit as they are back at the Surprise Tennis Complex on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match with Hope International.
