Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Spirit Sweep Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The ninth-ranked OUAZ men's volleyball team opened its weekend in California with a 3-0 sweep of California Lutheran on Friday night at Gilbert Arena.

OUAZ (11-1) ran its winning streak to six straight with the 25-20, 25-17, 25-14 win. That is the second-longest winning streak in program history.

The Spirit needed just 31 kills to complete the sweep as their .393 attack percentage helped overcome the 39 kills by Cal Lutheran (8-6). The significant advantage came from just nine Spirit hitting errors compared to the 23 from the Kingsmen. OUAZ forced a majority of those errors with 14 blocks.

Brenden Hardt had 10 blocks to lead five players to record a block in the win. Colin Donisthorpe added four blocks, and Jordan Moses had three.

Moses got off to a slow start attacking in the first set but rebounded to lead the team with 12 kills on .333 hitting. Emery Outin added 10 kills with a .643 attack percentage and two aces.

Tatum Gray finished with 10 digs, and Nicho Calles tallied 33 assists.

OUAZ will be back in action on Saturday when they face No. 12 The Master's at 2 p.m. (AZ) in Santa Clarita, California.
