OUAZ Opens GSAC Play with 3-1 Win in Glendale

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Playing its first Golden State Athletic Conference match of the season, the ninth-ranked OUAZ men's volleyball team traveled across town and picked up a 3-1 win over Arizona Christian on Wednesday evening.

By securing the 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 victory, OUAZ (10-1, 1-0 GSAC) moved to a perfect 10-0 in the series.

Emery Outin led the way for the Spirit with 13 kills on .323 hitting. Jordan Moses added 10 kills as the Spirit recorded 48 kills as a team. They hit .216 overall, including .344 in the fourth set.

Arizona Christian (1-2, 0-1) totaled 50 kills, but OUAZ posted 12 blocks and 47 digs to limit the Firestorm to a .157 percentage.

Colin Donisthorpe and Brenden Hardt had five blocks apiece to lead OUAZ. Tatum Gray finished with 12 digs.

The Spirit will now travel to California, where they will face Cal Lutheran in a non-conference match on Friday.
