OUAZ Stumbles at San Diego Christian

LA MESA, Calif. – The final trip to California of the season for the OUAZ women's volleyball team got off on the wrong foot as the Spirit lost at San Diego Christian in four sets on Friday night at the Skyline Church Gymnasium.

OUAZ (12-11, 7-7 GSAC) was flat from the start, and despite a better second set and start to the third, they eventually fell 20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 19-25.

San Diego Christian (2-16, 1-12 GSAC) used a 54-49 edge in kills to secure its first conference win of the season. OUAZ couldn't overcome its .167 hitting despite six service aces and 97 digs.

Livia De Pra led the way for the Spirit with 15 kills, while Rylie Henige and Jessica Pearce had 12 apiece. Kenzie Kuxhaus finished with a season-high 31 digs.

The Spirit will look to split the road trip on Saturday when they face Vanguard at Calvary Chapel High School.
