Shooting Woes Hurt OUAZ against San Diego Christian

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Saturday afternoon, the OUAZ women's basketball team closed out its weekend homestand with a 63-41 loss against San Diego Christian.

OUAZ (5-16, 2-11 GSAC) struggled to shoot the ball as they ended the game making 22.7 percent overall and just 4 of 22 from beyond the arc. San Diego Christian (7-14, 4-9) made just 37.5 percent but converted 25 of 32 at the foul line.

Cierra Kiser led the Spirit with seven points, while Virginia Edmondson, Makayla Holthaus, and Elizabeth Ortwine scored six points each. Marlee Johnson led the team with eight rebounds.

Next week, the Spirit will head back to California for a pair of games, starting on Thursday at Vanguard.
