Spirit Complete Play at UCSB Winter Invite

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The opened weekend of play for the OUAZ women's water polo team wrapped up on Sunday as the Spirit dropped two games at the UCSB Winter Invitational. OUAZ started Sunday by falling to No. 11 Indiana 22-5 and then lost to Iona 16-11 to cap the weekend.

Kylee Wesemann and Rachel Hughes scored two goals apiece in the game against Indiana.

Against Iona, Kamille Graham and Kendall Patrick tallied three goals each. OUAZ trailed 9-5 late in the first half before three straight Spirit goals had them back within one early in the third quarter. The deficit was 12-11 going to the fourth quarter before Iona closed out the win with four straight goals.

OUAZ will be back in action next weekend when they face Loyola Marymount on Saturday and Sunday in Tempe.
