Spirit Fall to No. 4 Mustangs

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The OUAZ women's basketball team closed out its four-game road stretch with a 77-42 loss at No. 4 The Master's on Saturday afternoon at The MacArthur Center.

OUAZ (5-13, 2-9 GSAC) shot just 25.9 percent from the field against one of the top defensive teams in the nation. They connected on 3 of 14 from beyond the arc with all three makes in the third quarter.

Mikayla Holthaus led the Spirit with 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench. Sedona Anderson added six points, and Violet Toon had five points.

The Master's (22-0, 11-0) shot 51.8 percent and scored 27 points from 28 OUAZ turnovers. Stephanie Soares led the Mustangs with 33 points and 19 rebounds.

The Spirit now returns home, where they will play three games next week. That stretch begins on Tuesday against Park Gilbert at 7 p.m.
