Win Streak Ends at Four Against (12)San Diego Christian

The OUAZ women's tennis team was off to its best start ever in GSAC play, but that streak came to an end with a 5-0 loss to #12 San Diego Christian on Friday. It marked the team's first loss to an NAIA school this season.

The Spirit struggled in the doubles portion of the dual, winning just three points between the three matches. It did not get much better for OUAZ in the singles matches either, as only one match went three sets.

Guilia Leali's 6-1 first set win over Angela Rinaldi was the only set the Spirit won all day, and Leali ended up falling in three sets. Mitzy Rangel battled tough in a 6-3 first set loss, but was down 5-0 in the second set before her match was called as the Hawks had wrapped up the dual victory.

The team will be back on the court next week when they travel to Southern California. There are only four more duals remaining before the conference tournament at the end of April.
