No. 12 Spirit Stay Perfect against Firestorm

SURPRISE, Ariz. – On the day they dropped one spot to No. 12 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, the OUAZ men's volleyball team picked up its second 3-1 win this season over Arizona Christian in a GSAC match at Faith Arena.
 
After taking the 25-15, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20 win, OUAZ (7-3, 3-0 GSAC) is now 7-0 all-time against its crosstown rival. The Spirit have now won five straight matches and they are alone atop the GSAC East standings.
 
OUAZ got out to a fast start on Tuesday with 24 kills in the opening two sets. They held Arizona Christian (0-3, 0-3) to 15 kills and 13 errors in opening a 2-0 lead. The effort held the Spirit to a 44-36 advantage in kills for the match and they hit .232 while holding the Firestorm to .155 hitting.
 
Jordan Moses led the attack with 15 kills on .345 hitting while Quaid King added 11 kills and hit .318. Conner Duyck added eight kills (.313) and Colin Donisthorpe had six kills (.625).
 
The Spirit also dominated at the service line where they tied the program record with 15 service aces. Six different players had at least one ace with Duyck getting five, Moses four, and Emery Outin recording three.
 
Andrew de'Leon distributed 26 assists and Tatum Gray had eight digs.
 
ACU was led by 10 kills from Nate Mayfield.
 
OUAZ is now off until March 6 when they face The Master's in Santa Clarita, California.
