Jones Goal Enough for Win at Master’s

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The OUAZ women's soccer team opened its weekend trip to California with a 1-0 win over The Master's on Thursday afternoon at Reese Field.

OUAZ (9-2-3, 3-0-3 GSAC) got a goal from Saipress Jones in the 27th minute and made it hold up to remain unbeaten in conference play. The result also clinches a spot in the GSAC Tournament.

Jones's goal was her seventh of the season and came on a feed from Paige Murray-Hernandez. It was also her only shot attempt of the afternoon.

Murray-Hernandez took a team-high three shots and had two of them on goal. Kendall Caron finished with two shots on goal as OUAZ took ten shots as a team.

Cassidy Samuelson picked up her fourth win and second shutout of the year by making four saves.

The Spirit will now head to Santa Barbara, California, where they will face the GSAC leader Westmont on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
