SURPRISE, ARIZ. -
Natasa Radovic did not have an ideal start to conference play this past weekend, as she averaged way below her normal in two losses to The Master's. Radovic got back to herself and more on Tuesday night, posting the program's first ever triple-double in the process.
OUAZ scored at least 20 in every quarter, and kept SAGU American Indian College below 20 in each period, as the Spirit defeated the Warriors 100-55 on Tuesday night. It is the second straight game the Spirit scored at least 100 points on SAGU AIC.
Radovic did it all for the Spirit, scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists. She completed her triple-double with an offensive rebound with 50 seconds left in the game.
While Radovic had a spectacular night, she was not the team's leading scorer. That honor belonged to
Sedona Anderson, who put in 22 points to go along with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. She has scored in double-digits in five of the six games this season.
Every player to check in for the Spirit scored on Tuesday, with 11 of 13 scoring at least six points. It is the third time the team has broken 100 points in a single game, and the second time this season.
Jamika Nelson recorded a double-double for the Warriors, scoring 26 points and nabbing 11 rebounds. All but one Warriors player to enter the game scored on Tuesday.
Overall, the Spirit were stingy on defense, especially when it came to contesting three-point shots. OUAZ allowed only one three-point basket in the final three quarters, and held the Warriors to just 33% shooting from the floor overall.
The Spirit now hit the road this upcoming weekend for an important conference series. OUAZ will find themselves in Rocklin, Calif. for a pair of contests against William Jessup on Friday and Saturday.
