SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's basketball team returned to Faith Arena for the first time in 19 days on Thursday night, and it was home sweet home for a Spirit team looking to get back into the conference tournament race.
Natasa Radovic led the way for OUAZ as she put 15 points and nabbed 11 rebounds, and
Kirsten Shinske also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Spirit's 65-51 win over San Diego Christian on Thursday night. The Spirit have now swept the Hawks for the second consecutive season.
Mickey Freeman was a force defensively once again, blocking a program record six shots on Thursday. She also had 10 points, six rebounds and an assist.
Kasey Harper nearly set a school record herself, as her six steals is the second-best single game performance in program history. She also added eight points, three assists and three rebounds.
Kate Sokolova fired from everywhere on the court, as she scored 14 points on 4-7 shooting and 3-5 from three point range. She also converted on all three of her free throw attempts, and grabbed five rebounds.
The Spirit hit the floor at Faith Arena once again on Saturday, as they host (6)Vanguard. Tipoff in Surprise is scheduled for Noon AZ Time.
