It is a crucial week for OUAZ women's basketball, as they entered play two games out of a conference tournament spot. While the two teams in front of them, Menlo and Arizona Christian, lost earlier, the Spirit had to dig deep and pick up a gutsy road win on Thursday.

Keely Wall hit a buzzer-beating jumper to send the game to overtime for Life Pacific, but OUAZ outscored the Warriors 14-9 in the extra frame to pick up a 75-70 win in San Dimas, Calif. The win, combined with help around conference play, now sit one game out of the final GSAC postseason seed.

Mickey Freeman had been bringing major contributions since her return for OUAZ, and she took that to the next level on Thursday. Freeman scored 26 points and had 16 rebounds to put the Spirit over the top. Her rebound total is the third most in a single game in program history, falling two short of the record.

A majority of Freeman's stats came in the first half, where she had 17 points and seven rebounds to give OUAZ an eight point lead. While the stats were not as gleaming in the final 20 minutes of regulation, she still had eight rebounds and two blocks. Freeman also hit two key free throws down the stretch in overtime.

Natasa Radovic scored half of the Spirit's points in extra time to finish with 22 total to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Kirsten Shinske put in 18 points, and added four rebounds and three assists of her own.

The Spirit will have a chance, with some help around the conference, to jump into the final conference tournament spot. They will first have to take down Hope International to have the opportunity to do so, and that game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00pm AZ Time.
