Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Radovic Collects Another Double-Double During Loss to Westmont

For the second time in three days, the OUAZ women's basketball team (10-9, 3-8 GSAC) had to match up with another top-five team on the road as they traveled to take on (4)Westmont on Saturday afternoon. The Spirit were only able to manage six points in the first quarter, and could not get out of its early game struggles on the way to a 70-48 loss.

Natasa Radovic continues to be a double-double machine, as she scored 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against the Warriors. She also added three assists, a block and a steal before ultimately fouling out.

Mickey Freemen led the Spirit in scoring, as she produced 13 while dishing out two assists as well. Vanessa Barriga had ten rebounds as well, half of those coming on the offensive end.

The Spirit only trailed by nine at half and ten at the end of the third quarter, but its poor shooting from the floor prevented them from making an upset attempt. Westmont shot 53% from the floor in the final ten minutes in a quarter where they outscored OUAZ 27-15 to pull away. Lauren Tsuneishi scored 18 points in 17 minutes, with every single point coming from behind the arc (6-12 3PT).

Faith Arena will finally host its first basketball game in nearly three weeks when the Spirit return home to face San Diego Christian on Feb. 6. Tipoff Thursday evening is scheduled for 5:00pm AZ Time.
