SURPRISE, ARIZ. - The Spirit had a second crack at a ranked team in as many days, but unfortunately they found the same result.
OUAZ fell to the 15-ranked The Master's in straight sets (22-25, 17-25, 17-25) on Saturday afternoon. The loss is OUAZ's third of the season.
The Spirit were led offensively by
Katie Defer (eight kills),
Sierra Dominguez (11 assists) and
Kanoe Vinoya (six aces, eight assists). Defensively,
Leni Bartley and
Star Hoskie had 13 digs each.
The Mustangs got 12 kills Madi Fay, which was the match high. Katie Emmerling had 35 assists, also a game high. The Master's also got 13 digs apiece out of McKenna Hafner and Mackenzie Delo.
The Spirit will hit the road next weekend when they take on Hope International on September 13 and Life Pacific on September 14.
