OUAZ women's soccer used a strong second half to power past Benedictine Mesa 2-0 on Thursday night. The win is the Spirit's second straight.
The Spirit got its goals from
Haley Howard and
Sarah Inafuku just under 12 minutes apart. Inafuku's goal was her team-leading sixth, and Howard's was her second of the year.
Paige Murray-Hernandez and
Lola Ruvalcaba picked up an assist each. The shot totals were high as well, with OUAZ taking 23 (12 on target) and Benedictine-Mesa taking 11 (6 on target).
Krysten Caballero made six saves in the victory. Thursday was her second straight shutout and fourth total in 2019.
The next time the Spirit take the field is next Thursday, September 19, when they travel to Aliso Viejo, Calif. to take on Soka. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm Arizona Time.
