SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's tennis team came up short, 7-2, against Arizona Christian in a Golden State Athletic Conference dual at the Surprise Tennis Complex on Friday.
 
OUAZ (1-9, 1-5 GSAC) earned one point in double action as Julia Ortiz and Hana Papaco won their No. 1 match 8-6.
 
The Spirit's singles point came in the No. 3 match where Michelle Fournier defeated No. 47 Sydney Smyth 7-6, 2-3, retired. Katie Fyall dropped her No. 6 match 6-3, 2-6, 0-6.
 
OUAZ returns to action on Saturday with a non-conference dual against Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m.
