The OUAZ women's basketball team will make the trip across the valley to face No. 25 Arizona Christian in the team's lone game of the week. The action begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at Fultz Memorial Gymnasium in Phoenix.

ABOUT THE SPIRIT
OUAZ heads into the game with a 9-11 overall record and coming off a home weekend where they split a pair of games. The Spirit are 3-10 in GSAC action and are currently eighth in the standings. They have gone 4-5 on the road this season and are looking to snap a two-game road losing streak.

The Spirit enter Saturday averaging 66.3 points per game and they shoot 36.6 percent from the field. They are averaging 6.3 made 3-pointers per game at 27.1 percent from beyond the arc. OUAZ hits 69.5 percent at the foul line and they average 11.8 assists with a 0.7 assist-to-turnover ratio.

OUAZ opponents are scoring 69.7 points per game by shooting 39.0 percent. The opposition makes 6.9 threes per game by making 32.3 percent from deep. OUAZ collects 39.5 rebounds per game while allowing 45.2 per night to their opponents. The Spirit are forcing 19.0 turnovers per game and they record 9.7 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.

Bailey Osmer is the leading scorer for the Spirit at 15.3 points per game and she ranks sixth in the GSAC in that category. Osmer has scored in double figures 17 times and in seven of the team's past eight games played. She has four games with 20-plus points and has one 30-point performance. Her 306 points scored this season are a school record and she also leads the team with 124 rebounds this season.

Alexis Smith averages 13.6 points per game and enters Saturday having scored in double figures in seven consecutive games. Smith leads the Spirit with 53 assists and she is sixth in the GSAC by making 1.9 threes per game. Her 104 career assists are the school's all-time record as are her 60 career 3-pointers.

Jorie Mayfield adds 11.8 points per game and she grabs 6.2 rebounds per night. She has scored in double figures 13 times with three 20-point outings. Mayfield also leads the Spirit with four double-doubles.

ABOUT ARIZONA CHRISTIAN
Arizona Christian starts the week with a 17-8 overall record and on a two-game winning streak. The Firestorm are ranked No. 25 in the current NAIA Coaches' Poll. They sit tied for second in the GSAC with their 10-3 record. They are led by GSAC leading scorer – and current player of the week – Courtney Christmas and her 22.1 points per game.

Arizona Christian leads the all-time series against the Spirit 3-0. That includes a 93-82 win on December 8 in Surprise and a pair of wins at Fultz Gymnasium last season.

LOOKING AHEAD
OUAZ is home for the final two times of the season next week when they host a pair of GSAC games at Willow Canyon High School. They welcome Life Pacific to town on February 14 at 5 p.m. before welcoming Hope International on February 16 at noon.
