OUAZ Back in Win Column Over SAGU

SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The Spirit played in Faith Arena for the final time in 2019 on Tuesday night, an opportunity to get back in the win column after a tough weekend to open conference play. OUAZ took advantage of every second, as they scored the game's first two points and did not look back after that.

The Spirit had four players score in double-digits on the way to a 77-53 over SAGU American Indian College on Tuesday. It was the team's second win in 20 days over the Warriors.

Taylor Davis added another double-double to her collection this season, as she scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Natasa Radovic was the game leader in scoring, as she dropped 19 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Vanessa Barriga also had a fantastic night, scoring 13 points and cleaning the glass seven times. Kirsten Shinske added 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

The Spirit were dominant on the rebounds, as they finished the night with a +18 advantage (60-42). Everyone got involved in the boards, too, as all eight players who checked into the game grabbed at least two, and six players came down with six or more.

OUAZ is off until a pair of NCAA exhibitions beginning Dec. 28. The Spirit return to NAIA action on Jan. 2 when they host Park-Gilbert.
