SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team began their final weekend of the season with a three-set loss at The Master's on Friday night. While they weren't able to pull a set in the match, OUAZ (7-19, 3-14 GSAC) hung around the GSAC Tournament bound Master's by scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.
The Spirit totaled 34 kills to hit .129 on the night. They were even with the Mustangs in kills, but the home team hit .227 with 12 errors to the 21 of the Spirit. Each team recorded six service aces and OUAZ had a 42-41 edge in digs with the Mustangs leading in blocks, 10-2.
Austin Edwards led the Spirit with 11 kills for her seventh double-digit total in the past eight matches played. She also recorded eight digs and one ace.
Sharron Wallace added nine kills while
Avie Butsko had six.
Leni Bartley led the team with 10 digs and
Star Hoskie had 27 assists.
OUAZ will close their season on Saturday at 3 p.m. (AZ) when they face Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.
