SURPRISE, ARIZ. - Last week was a busy one for OUAZ women's basketball, as the team played three games in five days. The upcoming week, and the remainder of November, lightens up considerably for the Spirit.
Faith Arena will open its doors again on Wednesday, as it is the site of OUAZ and SAGU American Indian College. Tipoff for the matchup is scheduled for 7:00pm Arizona Time.
This will be the second matchup in 12 days between the two programs, as they first met back on November 8 in Phoenix. The Spirit took home the 74-62 win, as
Natasa Radovic scored 27 points on 9-17 from the field.
Speaking of Radovic, the impressive start to her college career goes beyond one good performance. She has been the most consistent producer on both ends of the floor. She leads the Spirit in points per game (17.3), rebounds per game (9.5), and three-point shooting percentage (43.8%).
Kirsten Shinske is not too far off of Radovic in many of the same categories. She is second on the team in points per game (16.0) and three-point shooting percentage (43.5%). She also pulls down 5.3 rebounds per game and leads the team in assists with 14.
The Spirit as a team have been great on both end of the floor. They are outscoring its opponents, on average, 5.2 points per game. Defensively, they have held the opponent to 35.5% shooting from the floor, and 27.8% from three.
OUAZ has been cleaning up the glass in 2019. They are averaging 50 rebounds a game, and are averaging a +13 in rebound margin per matchup. They have held a double-digit turnover margin in all but one game, and that was in the season-opening win over Park-Gilbert, where the Spirit were a -3 in the category.
Coverage of Wednesday's games will be available on the OUAZ Game Central portal and the NAIA Network for $7.95. The NAIA Network is available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV devices. Live stats will also be available through Game Central at portal.stretchinternet.com/ottawaaz.
The matchup against the Warriors is the first of two matchups in the next ten days for the Spirit. After Wednesday, OUAZ will not play a game until the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, where they will host Westcliff on November 30 at Faith Arena.
