It had been 12 days since OUAZ took the field coming into Thursday's Golden State Athletic Conference opener. While it was a lot of time off between game action, it certainly did not look like it on Thursday night.
Four different players found the back of the net for OUAZ as they defeated San Diego Christian College 4-0 at Spirit Field.
Kiiaweau Aweau,
Saipress Jones,
Sarah Inafuku and
Cassidi Calzaretta notched the goals for the Spirit.
"I thought we did a good job at bouncing back," Kellar said. "You're only as good as your last game, and our last game wasn't very good, so it was a good response."
OUAZ controlled the game statistically from start to finish. The Spirt had four goals, but the team could have had more. They took 15 shots, and placed eight on target.
Defensively, the Spirit were sharp, allowing only four shots and two on target. Goalkeeper
Krysten Caballero made two saves for her fifth shutout of the season.
The Spirit will get back into conference play on Saturday when they take on Hope International. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30pm.
