SURPRISE, Ariz. – THE OUAZ women's volleyball team picked up another Golden State Athletic Conference win on Friday night by defeating San Diego Christian College in four sets at Willow Canyon High School.
 
The match was tightly contested all evening and featured each team rally back to win sets before the Spirit (8-6, 3-4 GSAC) came away with the 25-23, 25-21, 24-26, 25-14 victory.
 
OUAZ had one of its best offensive night of the season with 59 kills and .265 hitting. They totaled at least 12 kills in every set and closed out the win with 15 kills and .385 hitting in the fourth set.

Three Spirit players finished with double figures in kills, led by 14 from Jorie Mayfield. She hit .296 in the win while adding four digs and two blocks. Austin Edwards added 11 kills and eight digs while Gianna Kioa posted a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs.
 
San Diego Christian (6-10, 1-5 GSAC) ended the night hitting .167 with 41 kills. They also had a 9-7 advantage in service aces. OUAZ recorded 53 digs and five blocks against the 44 digs and three blocks from the visiting Hawks.
 
Rachel Kater also had a double-double for the Spirit with 38 assists and 10 digs. The setter also contributed eight kills and two aces. Seleni Bartley finished with seven digs and five aces.
 
Anekka Guy led San Diego Christian with 13 kills.
 
OUAZ will turn around quickly as they return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they welcome No. 21 Vanguard to Willow Canyon High School.
