TUCSON, Ariz. & RAMONA, Calif. – The OUAZ men's and women's tennis teams opened their season this past weekend at two different events. The Spirt sent two men and three women to the ITA Fall Regional Championships with three other men going to the Wildcat Invitational.
Eduardo Couto's performance at the ITA event highlighted the trips for the Spirit. Couto reached the semifinals of the event, defeating a pair of seeded players to get there. One of those wins came against the No. 1 ranked player in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

Noel Maurin reached the quarterfinals of the men's doubles where they were defeated by the top-seed from San Diego Christian College.
Hana Papaco won her first-round match before falling to the tournament's top seed in round two. She then paired with
Julia Ortiz in doubles where the duo was eliminated by another top-seed from San Diego Christian.
At the Wildcat Invitational,
Peter Hariri won his first-round match over Just Bac of Northern Arizona. Hariri was then eliminated in the semifinals.
Austin Todd and Eric DeRomas were each defeated in their opening round matches but came back to reach the semifinals (Todd) and finals (DeRomas) of their consolation draws.
