OUAZ Welcomes Lyon College on Saturday

Spirit still looking for first SAC win

THE GAME
>>> The OUAZ football team looks to return to the win column on Saturday when they welcome Lyon College to Spirit Field.

>>> Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the new home of the Spirit. Tickets information is available at OUAZSpirit.com/tickets.

>>> Saturday is Military Appreciation Day with all active and retired military and first responders receiving two free general admission tickets with a valid ID.

>>> OUAZ will broadcast the game live on their Game Central portal and the NAIA Network for $7.95 with James Poovey (play-by-play) and Vince D'Aliesio (analyst) calling the action. The NAIA Network is available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku devices by searching NAIA.

SPIRIT NOTES
>>> OUAZ is currently 1-2 overall and 0-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference action. They are 1-1 at home and have lost two straight overall.

>>> After opening the year with a home win over CETYS Universidad, OUAZ has lost two consecutive games when the opponent has scored on the final drive of the game.

>>> This game is the second of two straight home games. After playing at SAGU next week, the Spirit will then return home for three straight games. 

>>> OUAZ fell to No. 9 in this week's NCCAA rankings, dropping five positions from the previous week's No. 4 ranking.

>>> In his fifth season as a head coach, Mike Nesbitt has a 26-19 all-time record and a 1-2 record at OUAZ.

ABOUT LYON COLLEGE
>>> Lyon will make the 1,400-mile trip from Batesville, Ark., with a 1-2 overall record and 0-1 in SAC games.

>>> The Scots are coming off a 26-23 home loss in overtime last week at home against Arizona Christian. They are 1-1 in road games and have lost two straight overall.

>>> Lyon will enter the game averaging 24.0 points per game while totaling 329.3 yards of total offense. They are 28th in the NAIA by throwing for 255.3 yards per game.

>>> Casey Creehan is in his first season leading the Scots as head coach with a 1-2 record.

>>> Through three games, OUAZ is scoring 47.3 points per game – a total that would rank eighth in the NAIA – while they pile up 447.0 total yards per contest.
