@OUAZTennis Women Drop Match Against Connecticut College 8-1

Spirit fall to 1-4 overall

SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Ottawa University Arizona women's tennis team fell on Friday afternoon at home to Connecticut College by a final of 8-1 at the Surprise Tennis Facility.

It was a rough Friday for OUAZ, as they faced a tough NCAA Division III Connecticut College squad. Play began with doubles action, as the Camels from Connecticut College claimed all three points by finals of 8-4, 8-5, and 8-2.

In singles play, the Spirit claimed a victory at #3 singles as Michelle Fournier defeated her opponent by finals of 7-6 and 6-4. The Camels won the other five singles matches, but #4 singles was close. Hana Papaco fell at the very end by a final of 7-5, 4-6, and 1-0 (10-5).

The Spirit women's tennis team returns to the court on Saturday March 24th, when they travel to Phoenix to face Paradise Valley Community College in an exhibition match. It is scheduled to begin at 11am.
