COSTA MESA, Calif. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end in a 3-0 loss at No. 15 Vanguard on Friday night in Golden State Athletic Conference action.
 
OUAZ (14-12, 7-9 GSAC) entered the night on a school record winning streak, but they couldn't slow Vanguard (23-6, 10-5) and the Lions took the 25-13, 25-20, 25-15 victory to complete a season sweep of the Spirit.
 
Vanguard dictated much of the action in the match and they finished the night with a 38-25 edge in total kills. OUAZ hit just .032 while allowing Vanguard to total .337 hitting.
 
Austin Edwards led the Spirit with seven kills. Gianna Kioa added five kills ending her run of seven straight matches in double figures.
 
Kelsey Marchant record the Spirit's only service ace. Kioa led the team with eight digs.
 
Vanguard got a match-high 13 kills from Shay Larson-Piper.
 
The Spirit will now head to San Diego Christian where the teams will battle on Saturday at 1 p.m.
