SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Ottawa University Arizona men's volleyball team won their first match of the season over Saint Katherine at the Redwood Invitational, 3-1. Final scores were 22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-13.

The Spirit started their inaugural first game of the season earning the first point of the game. They continued to hold the lead through point-16 where the teams struggled back and forth to maintain the momentum. The Firebirds of Saint Katherine were able, using unforced errors by OUAZ, to pull ahead and win the game 25-22.
 
In the second and third games, the Spirit worked to find their rhythm. Taking the lead early and keeping it to win the game 25-18 in the second. In the third, the Spirit worked to overcome the lead of the Firebirds to win the game 25-18 as well.
 
In the fourth and final game of the match, OUAZ looked more like the team that they are. Taking the lead and using their dominant serving and offense to secure the win. OUAZ had ten service aces for the match.
