RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Ottawa University Arizona women's basketball team fell to the La Sierra University Eagles on Thursday evening. The final score was 85-67.
In the first quarter of the game, the La Sierra Eagles started out strong getting ahead of the Spirit and setting the pace of the game.
To end the half, the Eagles gave themselves a good lead over the Spirit by playing tough defense. The Spirit kept working to keep up with the Eagles, and the teams went into halftime with a score of 45-29.
In the third quarter, the Eagles continued to keep their lead, but the Spirit were able to prevent their lead from increasing for the quarter. The fourth quarter continued the similarly, but the Spirit were unable to close the gap. The final score of the game was 85-67.
For the game, OUAZ had more points off of turnovers and from 2nd chance points, but the Eagles had more fastbreak opportunities.
