Caitlyn Sears enters her second season as the assistant women's basketball coach at OUAZ.

Prior to her arrival in Surprise, Sears spent time at Utah Valley University in the fall of 2015 as an assistant women's basketball coach. Sears joined Utah Valley after serving as an assistant women's basketball coach (2011-2013) and former player at Southern Utah University.

As a coach, she contributed to film breakdown and worked with the defensive and post players. Sears graduated from SUU in 2011 with a degree in physical education with an emphasis in coaching. Sears played all four years as a guard/forward and left Southern Utah as their fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,216 total points. She also ranks third in games played (115) and ninth in steals (126). Sears was also named to the all-Summit League second team after averaging 15.3 points per game and shooting 44 percent from behind the arc during her senior season (2010-11).  

The former forward was a four-year letter winner at Lone Peak High School and was named first-team all-state by the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News as well as a McDonald’s All-American nominee in 2007. 

Sears is the daughter of Brad and Judi Sears of Cedar Hills, Utah. She also served an LDS mission to the Phillipines from 2013-15.
