Chris Womack

  • Title
    Offensive Line

Entering his second season with the OUAZ football program, Coach Womack has already made a significant impact. Taking charge of the offensive line in 2024, he played a pivotal role in elevating the Spirit's offensive production to new heights. Under his leadership, five offensive linemen earned All-Conference honors, and the team shattered the school’s single-season rushing record.

OUAZ finished the 2024 season ranked #3 nationally in rushing, averaging 257 yards per game and totaling 2,806 rushing yards. Despite being a dominant ground team, the offense also excelled through the air, finishing #8 nationally in passing, while the offensive line allowed the fewest sacks in conference play, a testament to both scheme and player development.

Before joining OUAZ, Coach Womack served as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Crown College (2021–2023). During his tenure, Crown posted its highest offensive output in over a decade, breaking 25 school records. Womack’s innovative, pass-heavy offense led to multiple seasons with the #1 passing offense in the conference, topping charts in touchdowns, completions, and yards. He also mentored 7 All-Conference selections and coached three quarterbacks who ranked in the NCAA top 10 in various statistical categories.

Now in his ninth year of collegiate coaching, Womack has held key roles at several respected programs. He was an Offensive Analyst under Head Coach Troy Taylor at Sacramento State and spent the 2020 season as Assistant Quarterbacks Coach at Eastern Kentucky University. While at EKU, he worked alongside renowned coaches including Walt Wells, Trent Steelman, and Andy Richman, contributing to a quarterback unit that achieved significant improvements across all major passing metrics—helping position EKU as one of the top offensive teams in the FCS that season.

Coach Womack’s coaching philosophy centers on a “people over product” approach. His goal is to recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes to become leaders on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. He prioritizes the individual growth and well-being of each player while striving for excellence across all aspects of the program.
