Spirit Roll Past Life Pacific for Seventh Straight Win

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team continued its red-hot form on Saturday, sweeping Life Pacific in dominant fashion to extend its winning streak to seven matches.

  • Set 1 (25-21): The opening frame was an intense back-and-forth battle as neither side gave an inch early on. Jenna Sarff and Jessica Pearce powered the Spirit offense with five kills apiece, while Lauren Wamsley added two timely kills to keep OUAZ in rhythm. From the service line, Kaiden Raif delivered a clutch ace that helped swing momentum late. The Spirit held firm down the stretch and edged out a hard-fought first set to take a 1–0 lead in the match.

  • Set (25-11): The Spirit seized control early and never looked back, dominating the second frame with a balanced attack and relentless serving. Amey Rainaud sparked the run from the service line with two aces, while Sarff and Wamsley each tallied four kills to keep OUAZ firmly in command. Pearce added three kills of her own as the Spirit cruised to a convincing second-set victory and a 2–0 lead in the match.

  • Set 3 (25-15): OUAZ closed out the match with an impressive serving display that kept Hope International on the defensive. Wamsley led the way with four aces and two kills, while Pearce powered the attack at the net with four kills. The Spirit's depth from the service line proved overwhelming, as Raif, Ana Newcomb, and Hannah Allman each added an ace. The relentless pressure gave OUAZ full control down the stretch, sealing the sweep in dominant fashion.

Jessica Pearce etched her name into the OUAZ record books with a remarkable .857 hitting percentage, a mark that now stands as the second-best match performance in program history. Pearce's efficiency on the attack made her nearly unstoppable, and she was equally impactful on the defensive side, coming up with key blocks at the net to stall Life Pacific's momentum. Her all-around dominance anchored the Spirit on both ends of the floor in the sweep.
