Butte, Mont. — OUAZ Men's Basketball closed out its weekend at the Best Western Tip Off Classic with a 92–73 loss to Montana Western on Saturday night. The Spirit (1–2) hung close early, trailing by just 11 at halftime, but the Bulldogs (5–1) steadily extended their lead behind a strong shooting performance.
Carter Gittens once again led the way for OUAZ, finishing with a game-high 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting while adding four rebounds and a block. DJ Jones came off the bench to provide 12 points and five rebounds, while Zeke Viuhkola chipped in 10 points and four assists. As a team, the Spirit shot 47 percent from the field and 63 percent from the line but struggled from deep, hitting just three of 17 three-point attempts.
