Fullerton, Calif. – OUAZ Men's Basketball earned a 65–58 road win over Stanton University on Friday night, using a strong defensive effort and timely scoring to secure their second victory of the season. The Spirit controlled much of the game, holding Stanton to just 24 first-half points and maintaining composure down the stretch as the Sabers attempted to rally late.
Carter Gittens continued his strong play with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding five rebounds. Zeke Viuhkola provided steady production with 12 points and three assists, and Max Mkpa anchored the interior with nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds. OUAZ shot 43 percent from the field and outscored Stanton 34–22 in the paint, helping them overcome an off night from beyond the arc.
