Angwin, Calif. – OUAZ Women's Basketball dominated from start to finish, defeating Pacific Union 91-45 on the road Wednesday night. The Spirit jumped out to an 18-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back, putting together one of their most complete performances of the young season.
OUAZ displayed impressive balance offensively, scoring double-digit points in every quarter and shooting 46 percent from the field. The Spirit were relentless on the glass, outrebounding Pacific Union 59-21 while recording 26 second-chance points. Tiana Sledge led the way with another strong showing, posting 18 points and 10 rebounds on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting night. Brianna Humphries matched her effort with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double, marking the ninth time in program history that multiple players have recorded double-doubles in the same game. Jana Solee added 16 points, connecting on three triples, while Senna Smith and Charli Cook provided sparks off the bench with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The win brings OUAZ's record to 2-2 on the season. The Spirit will return to action on Friday, November 14th, when they travel to take on Bethesda for a 5 p.m. tip.
