GLENDALE, Ariz. — The OUAZ Spirit women's basketball team put together a strong, competitive performance against the Arizona Christian Firestorm, staying neck-and-neck through multiple momentum swings. With key scoring contributions and stretches of control, the Spirit battled from start to finish, ultimately falling late in a closely contested matchup.

1st quarter (10-13): The Spirit and Firestorm traded baskets throughout a competitive first quarter, with neither team able to gain much separation. Brianna Humphries led the Spirit with 4 points in the period, while Payton Sheridan knocked down a big three-pointer to keep OUAZ right in step early.

2nd quarter (23-19): The second quarter brought another hard-fought stretch, but this time the Spirit gained the upper hand and took the lead. Charli Cook led the way with 4 points, while Jana Solee and Sheridan each added 3 to help OUAZ build momentum heading into halftime.

3rd quarter (42-33): The Spirit continued to build on their momentum in the third quarter, extending their lead with strong offensive execution. Humphries powered the team with 7 points in the period, while Sheridan added 5 more to help OUAZ create separation heading into the final quarter.

4th quarter (58-64): The fourth quarter turned into a tight battle as both teams fought hard down the stretch, but the Firestorm ultimately pulled ahead late to come away with the win. The Spirit continued to compete until the final buzzer, but ACU's late push proved just enough to secure the victory.
Despite the loss, the Spirit saw major individual milestones reached. Brianna Humphries recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and she is now tied for the most blocks in program history. Tiana Sledge matched her impact with a double-double of her own her 1st of the season — finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds, tying the program record for most career double-doubles (17).
