SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — The OUAZ women's volleyball team put up a strong fight on Saturday afternoon, taking The Master's to five sets in a back-and-forth matchup. Despite a hard-fought effort and several momentum swings, the Spirit fell short in the deciding set as The Master's secured the win.

Set 1 (25-22): The opening set was a tightly contested battle, with both teams trading points and energy from start to finish. The Spirit stayed aggressive from the service line, picking up aces from Kaiden Raif, Amey Rainaud, and Lauren Wamsley, who also added three kills to lead the offense. Despite the back-and-forth intensity, OUAZ couldn't quite pull away as The Master's held on to edge out the set.

Set 2 (9-25): The Spirit struggled to gain momentum in the second set as The Master's took control early and never looked back. OUAZ couldn't find consistency on offense but continued to fight through each rally. Gloria Moye, Bella Reach, Jenna Sarff, and Wamsley each tallied a kill, but the Mustangs dominated the set from start to finish.

Set 3 (23-25): The third set was another tightly contested battle, but despite a strong effort, the Spirit ultimately fell short. Jessica Pearce powered the offense with six kills, while Rainaud added a crucial service ace to keep the momentum alive. Sarff and Reach each contributed two kills, but it wasn't enough to overcome The Master's late surge as the Spirit dropped the set.

Set 4 (26-24): The Spirit came out fighting in another hard-fought battle, determined to keep the match alive. Sarff and Pearce led the charge with four kills each, fueling the team's energy and helping them secure the set victory. Their grit and timely execution at the net gave OUAZ the edge they needed to push the match further.

Set 5 (7-15): The deciding set was intense, but the Spirit ultimately fell short. Rainaud contributed a service ace, while Pearce and Moye each added a kill, keeping OUAZ competitive. Despite their efforts, The Master's maintained control down the stretch and closed out the match.
