Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Eight Goals, Three Saves Keep Shutout Streak Alive

SURPRISE, ARIZ. – After two weeks away from game action, the OUAZ men's soccer team had a chance to flex its dominance on Saturday morning in front of its home crowd against Justice College. The Spirit had five goals scored by five different players in the first half, then Ingram Kusaloka had a second-half hat trick as OUAZ took away a 8-0 win over the Lions.

No time was wasted for the Spirit attack, as Alvaro Hormigos scored his first goal of the season in the 5' thanks to assists from Jamaine Turner and Joey Vega. Just 5:02 later, Jesus Castillo netted his first goal with a helper from Adam Hatuel.

The Spirit would be up 3-0 exactly 14 minutes into the contest, as Ron Naftali scored his third of the season with yet another assist from Turner. The senior would finally get a goal of his own in the 22', then Zen Courtois capped off the high-octane half with a tally in the 41'.

The second half saw OUAZ continue its defensive dominance, plus a natural hat trick in the second half thanks to Kusaloka. The forward potted goals in the 60', 72', and 80' to take the team lead in goals heading into conference play.

Jonathan Garcia continues his, and the team's, shutout streak to start the season by making three saves. Garcia has been the keeper for all 360 minutes of shutout play this season for OUAZ.

The Spirit will start GSAC play against new conference member Park Gilbert on Tuesday in Surprise. Kickoff from Spirit Field is set for 7 p.m.
