SILVAS, ILL. – Taylor Wilczek completed her excellent Freshman season on Friday at the NAIA National Tournament, finishing fifth on the individual leaderboard and making the All-Tournament team. Wilczek set the record for the best finish by a Spirit golfer at the national tournament in program history.
Wilczek put her name in the OUAZ record books with another great round on Friday, going 73 (+1) in the final 18 holes. Wilczek had another three birdies on the day, putting her at a total of nine for the four-round event.
Wilczek was a top player throughout the final three rounds of the national tournament, leading all golfers on average par-3 score (3.00) and having the second most pars among the field. Wilczek was also in the top 12 for par-4 scoring average (4.25).
Keiser (Fla.) swept the championships at the NAIA, as they won the team and individual titles. As a team, the Seahawks finished 16 shots in front of Oklahoma City, and Keiser's Hoi Ki Lau took home the individual crown.
